J Boog era un artist cunoscut mai ales pentru prestaţiile sale ca actor dar şi pentru muzica r&b şi hip-hop pe care o cânta. În 2011 a lansat albumul Backyard Boogie, un album reggae ce are mare priză la public. Astfel, J Boog a devenit una dintre surprizele anului trecut şi a reuşit să aducă în prim-plan o monstră de reggae direct din Hawaii de calitate superioară. Hit-ul acestuia, Let It Blaze, face parte de pe material şi are parte în 2012 şi de un clip. Notând şi faptul că pe Backyard Boogie a colaborat cu producători de rangul lui Don Corleon, dar şi cu artişti ca Tarrus Riley pe She Give Me Lovin‘, cu Jacob Hemphill (SOJA) pe Watch and Learn şi cu Million Stylez pe Replay sunt de părere că merită total să-i ascultăm capodopera.
