Din fericire, există posibilitatea ca muzica şi politica să facă din când în când casă bună împreună, iar cel mai bun ultim exemplu de acest fel este dat de către compilaţia numită Reggae Golden Jubilee.
Pe aceasta vom putea regăsi 100 de track-uri selectate de către fostul prim ministru jamaican din anii 1980 – 1989, Edward Seaga, cu ocazia împlinirii a 50 de ani de independenţă în 2012 pentru statul din Caraibe.
Edward Seaga este singurul membru al parlamentului din 1962 rămas în viaţă dintre cei care au promulgat prima constituţie a Jamaicăi. Ca fapt inedit, acesta a jucat la începutul anilor ‘60 un rol important în dezvoltarea muzicii ska.
Pe Reggae Golden Jubilee vom asculta aproape cronologic preferinţele muzicale ale fostului premier, iar playlistul curge lin de la Derrick Morgan la Mavado. Suntem siguri că alegerile nu au fost tocmai uşoare. Compilaţia a fost lansată la VP Records pe 6 noiembrie, iar noi vă propunem să ascultăm de aici piesele The Paragons – The Tide Is High, Abyssinians – Satta Massa Gana, Culture – Two Sevens Clash, Garnett Silk – Hello Africa şi Buju Banton – Untold Stories.
