Irie FM a câştigat a doua semifinală Rototom Reggae ContestIrie FM wins the second semifinal at Rototom Reggae Contest
Pe data de 5 aprilie în Cross Club din Praga s-a desfăşurat a doua semifinală din cadrul Rototom Reggae Contest (click pe link dacă aţi ratat episoadele anterioare), semifinală decisivă pentru trupele participante din Europa de Est.
Cum la începutul campaniei i-am avut şi noi pe cei de la East Roots în cursă în zona Europa de Est, sunt sută la sută convins că vă interesează cum sună cei care au câştigat concursul. La startul acestei semifinale s-au calificat Natural Dread Killaz & Riddim Bandits din Polonia, Dubaku Band din Ungaria şi Irie FM din Serbia – favoriţi ai concursului în urma notelor primite din partea juriului în runda trecută (de departe trupa cu cel mai mare calificativ).
În faţa unui club plin, cele trei trupe au respectat scenariul prestabilit – au avut la dispoziţie câte 45 de minute, cât o repriză de fotbal, de prestaţie live pentru a impresiona asistenţa şi mai ales juriul. Acest juriu trebuia să acorde calificative pentru originalitatea proiectului, calitatea prestaţiei, tehnică pe scenă, profesionalism, răspunsul publicului şi pentru potenţialul trupei într-un context european.
Şi nu s-a înregistrat nicio surpriză.. Irie FM au cântat, au câştigat şi se pregătesc de finala de la Udine de pe 1 iunie. Trebuie menţionat că este a doua oară consecutiv când sârbii realizează această performanţă. Cei fondaţi în 2004 în Belgrad îşi pun toate bazele în Vukasin Markovic, solistul trupei – ce dispune de nişte calităţi incontestabile pentru a fi de data aceasta marii câştigători.
Irie FM au sărbătorit succesul, chiar a doua zi, printr-un concert de zile mari susţinut la Timişoara!

ps.. aseară s-a desfăşurat cea de-a treia semifinală din cadrul concursului, cea pentru Zona Franceză şi vom reveni în curând cu detalii.. Următoarea semifinală se desfăşoară pe data de 26 aprilie în Londra pentru Zona Europei de Nord.
Urmăriţi-ne pentru mai multe ştiri reggae!Cross Club, Prague was the venue of the second semifinal for the Rototom Reggae Contest which took place on the 5th of April, (click the link if you missed previous posts), a contest decisive in determining the Eastern European band that will be attending the final.
As you might know, early in the race we had our own representatives – the guys from East Roots, so I am sure that you are dying to find out how the band that won this competition sounds like. At the start line of the semifinal the line-up was Natural Dread Killaz & Riddim Bandits from Poland, Dubaku Band from Hungary and Irie FM from Serbia – the contest’s favorites after receiving the scores from the previous round (the band with the highest score by far).
Outside a packed club, the 3 bands stuck the scenario – each had 45 minutes, the length of half a football match, of live performance in order to impress the audience and especially the judges. The jury’s task was to grant marks according to the originality of the project, the quality of the performance, stage technique, professionalism, the crowd’s reaction and the potential of each group in an European musical environment.
And no surprises there.. Irie FM lit up the stage! They won and are preparing for the final stage of the competition which is bound to take place in Udine on the 1st of June. One must mention that this is the second time when the Serbs accomplish this performance. This band that first spawned in 2004 in Belgrade, heavily rely on Vukasin Markovic, the lead singer – an artist with undebatable qualities for winning the contest this time around.
Irie FM have celebrated their success the following day, by staging a once-in-a-decade concert held in Timisoara, Romania.

P.S. Last night the 3rd semifinal took place – the one for the French Speaking Area. We will soon come back with more details.. The next semifinal is bound to take place on the 26th of April, London is the venue and the competition is for the representatives of the Northern Europe region.
